Nooner.net
Welcome to Nooner.net
This is the Nooner Family network.
"Home" will take you to this page.
"Belinda and Rick" will take you to Belinda and Rick's family site.
"Rick's Hole" will take you to Rick's hobby site (which is still being worked on).
"Library" contains local copies of documentation that I find useful.
"Security Info" is a collection of security resources used at Nooner.net. This section is offline at the moment.
This site is also a testbed for various web design techniques. It probably won't work well in browsers that aren't using up-to-date standards.
April 14, 2005 - Due to memory problems on the Sun, I have moved the main web site over to one of my Macs. I've had a total of 192 megs of third party memory go out now. I suppose it's a case of buyer beware with second hand computer equipment. The Mac isn't second hand and is *MUCH* faster than the old Turbo Sparc. Hopefully I won't have to move it again for quite awhile.
I still use OpenBSD on the firewall, mail server and secondary web server but I am happy to add OS X to the server farm. It certainly makes it easier for Belinda to update the web site.
We chose the Einstein/Apple logo at the bottom because this year is the World Year of Physics commemorating the pioneering contributions of Albert Einstein in 1905.
March 10, 2004 - It took awhile but PHP is running again. I'll be rewriting the security section in Ruby as I have time. I have some improvements in mind for it as well. Since these projects are on a "as time allows" basis, it may take awhile to finish them but it will happen.
November 28, 2003 - The web site has been down since the evening of November 26 because I was upgrading to OpenBSD 3.4 and ran into some problems with the latest PHP and Python. The content management system that I use for this site is PHP based so problems with PHP basically kills the web site. I still don't have it figured out but have generated static pages for the time being. I hope to have the problem resolved soon...
Python is used behind the scenes to generate the security pages. I will tackle the python issue as soon as I have the php issues resolved. I've been doing a lot of work lately in Ruby and may just rewrite the security section in that language.
